About
Helping Australians tell a real bargain from a red sticker
“Was $499, now $399” only means something if it actually sold for $499. Bargain.com.au collects the data that shows whether a deal is real, then gets out of the way.
Data over opinions
We show what prices actually did, what a program actually pays, and what an exchange actually charges. No star ratings we can’t back up.
Show our working
Every tool explains where its data comes from and when it was last checked. Our methodology is public.
Money never moves the numbers
Commissions can decide whether a link earns us money. They never change a price, a verdict or the order of a factual table.
Stay in our lane
We don’t hold a financial services or credit licence, so we don’t compare insurance, loans, super or investment products.
What we build
- Price compare: the same product’s price at every shop we track, matched by barcode, with daily price history, price alerts and an automated check on whether today’s price is genuinely low.
- Rebate finder: government rebates and concessions by state, linked to the official source.
- Fuel prices: cheapest fuel from official state data.
- Cashback comparison: what each cashback site pays at major retailers.
- Provider pages for internet, energy, streaming, travel, home services and mattresses, plus factual crypto exchange fee tables.
How we use AI
Automated tools, some using AI, help us collect and check data at a scale a small team couldn’t manage by hand. We use AI to read and match information, not to invent it, and we tell you on every page where automated data is involved. Details are in our methodology and AI disclosure.
